Power & Performance: Dynamiq's GTT 165 Yacht Concept
The GTT 165 is the latest and largest model in Dynamiq’s range of next-generation superyachts pushing the boundaries of yacht design and shaking up the market.
This 50m all-aluminium vessel with exterior styling by Dobroserdov Design is fresh and sporty with a range of clever innovations to rival any vessel of a similar size.
To maximize performance, the fast displacement hull was devised by Dutch hydrodynamic specialists Van Oossanen. Added to this are two underwater foils – a hull vane aft and a T-foil forward - developed in association with Naiad Dynamics to decrease drag as the yacht increases speed.
Powered by twin V8 MTU engines, Dynamiq is unique in delivering a 50m yacht capable of 20 knots and able to cross the Atlantic at 17 knots. For faster transits there’s a GTS 165 capable of a top speed of 25 knots. At lower speeds of 12 knots, both models have an enviable range of 4,000nm.
The round bilge hull and sophisticated stabilisation system from Humphree make for smooth cruising while optional solar panels and a lithium-ion battery pack allow the yacht to stay at anchor in complete silence overnight. Alternatively this energy store can provide a couple of hours of breakfast cruising at a speed of 5-6 knots in zero-emission mode.
The GTT 165 accommodates 12 guests in either a five or six cabin configuration as required. A spacious glass-covered beach club in the transom houses a spa area that can also be fitted out as a gym. As well as an ample lounging and socialising zone aft of the main deck, there is a huge 20m long sun deck with a bar and dining facilities, a cinema with 75’ TV and a Jacuzzi and sunbathing area aft. Forward of the raised pilothouse there is a further sunbathing area providing spectacular 360-degree views.
“Price and performance are the key factors here.” says Sergei Dobroserdov, founder and CEO of Dynamiq. “There are so many 50m yachts below 500GT available, but we asked ourselves, ‘What can we bring to the market that makes more sense for our clients?
“The answer in simple terms is a slender hull with a long waterline that is much more efficient and more comfortable in motion than a short, wide one. So rather than maximising interior volume, together with the naval architects we analysed everything an owner wants or needs in terms of general arrangement and features. We arrived at a concept of 450GT including optional sky lounge that provides the motion comfort of a 55m yacht with a conventional flared bow.
"The GTT 165 is aimed at today’s active owners who spend most of their time on deck in the open air and who want to experience different destinations on a more manageable and economical size of yacht at the very attractive starting price of €24,400.000.”
To explore the options you can create your custom GTT/GTS 165 yacht using Dynamiq’s unique Online Configurator.
Dynamiq aims to begin construction later this year so that a forward-thinking owner can take delivery in time for the 2021 Med season.
