Benetti Yachtmaster: An Italian Success
Azimut Benetti Yachtmaster’s European event 2016/2017 offered three days of entertainment, professional content, workshops and team building activities, with a range of social activities for over 200 attendees.
The focus this year was on information security, the role of communication in crisis management, crew management and legislative and tax perspectives of yacht chartering. A day-long session was organised with the PYA (Professional Yachting Association), to provide Benetti crews with consistent service standards and procedures, with three live interviews with Benetti captains, one American, another Lebanese and one Italian, tackling issues linked to different countries, cultures and legal systems.

Benetti established three new attendance categories: Commodore, for captains who have attended 17 events, Ambassador for those who have attended 13 events, and Champions for captains who have attended at least seven events.
Captain Andrea Segato, one of the newly appointed Ambassadors said on the subject of professional content,
“Offering the opportunity to meet other captains, surveyors and suppliers is essential, because it provides a way to start assembling an increasingly broad body of information. In this way, if the need arises to look at a particular subject in more detail, you already have a headstart in terms of knowledge.”
Alessandro Gallifuoco, Quality and After Sales Manager at Benetti and the manager in charge of the Yachtmaster said,
“This year’s Yachtmaster Europe went beyond our expectations in terms of attendance and variety of provenance of the audience and the sponsor base. This internationalism is also reflected in the interviews we arranged with the captains, specifically to transfer to attendees an overview of the Benetti experience”.
