Cramm Yachting Systems Celebrates 60 Years of Excellence
Cramm is very proud to be celebrating their 60th anniversary in 2014. When Cramm started in 1954, reaching our diamond anniversary was a far off goal. Now that we’re here, we are proud and humbled by the countless hours of work put in by those before us, and excited to carry on the company today.
“All of the Cramm team is extremely proud of this milestone anniversary,” said Rob Knoop, Director at Cramm Yachting Systems. “We are looking forward to the future and what the next sixty years hold.”
Business began for Cramm in 1954 with the manufacture of diesel engines for mainly land-based clients. When these diesel engines became too complicated for general mechanics, we saw the opportunity to expand by providing repairs and maintenance. This positive can-do attitude carried on and eventually became our full service solution, where we take a project from the initial consultation right through to the after sale service, making the process as seamless and easy as it can be for the client.
We decided to move into the growing marine hydraulic industry in the 1970s. Having now been part of that sector for 40 years, we’ve worked with many international and renowned clients and shipyards, and worked on yachts such as 109m Octopus, 134m Serene, 88m Maltese Falcon and 68m Lady Christine. Our strong connections with those at the top of the industry means our products are relied on time and time again by the best shipyards in the world.
We also offer clients the most straightforward contact process by having one point of contact right from the start. This means never being passed around the shop floor – you will deal with one person who knows your project inside out throughout the entire project. Should you have any difficulties after installation, all Cramm products come with a five-year guarantee and support from a dedicated after sales team.
But we don’t just stop with making the best products. Research and development is a large part of what we do, but while we always deliver top quality products, we’re constantly improving them using the latest technologies. Being at the forefront of the hydraulics industry is not enough – we want to stay there.
The aesthetically pleasing products are discreet and minimal, yet powerfully effective. Products like cranes, passerelles, ladders and doors can be custom built to suit clients’ needs and in most cases, colours and styles can be matched to provide synchronicity across the vessel.
Now that we’re 60, we could be forgiven for slowing down in our old age. But that’s not what we’re doing – in fact, we’re picking speed up.
We owe all our successes to our customers and business partners who have supported us for many years. We take pride in manufacturing top quality goods so time spent out on the ocean can be an enjoyable, pleasurable and comfortable experience.
We’re humbled to reach such a milestone and thank all our customers and advocates for your enduring support and standing beside us in business.
