DAME Design Awards 2018 Open for Entries

The DAME Design Awards, judged during METSTRADE in November, is the most significant marine equipment competition of its kind.

For 28 years, DAME has focused attention on all aspects of equipment design from functionality to innovation, recognising and endorsing excellence across the marine industry as well as cost effectiveness and environmental impact.

Participation is open to manufacturers and authorised suppliers who are registered as exhibitors or co-exhibitors at METSTRADE and entries are now open until 18 September 2018.

DAME Award Winner 2017 - Scanstrut Ltd

Last year's winner was RS Venture Connect Conversion Kit from Scantrut. Commenting on the impact of the Award, CEO Tom Reed said, “Scanstrut has participated in the DAME Awards for many years, with several nominations and Special Mentions. Flashback to DAME 2017

New Jury Members AnnouncedNew DAME Jury members for 2018 include renowned naval architect Andre Hoek, from Hoek Design in the Netherlands, US marine electronics specialist, Ben Ellison and naval architect and esteemed technical writer, Dave Marsh. They replace outgoing Jury members, Jean Francois de Prémorel, of Prestige / Beneteau Groupe and technical author and consultant, Nigel Calder, who have completed their term.

Birgit Schnaase of Schnaase Interior Design continues as chair of the jury alongside members Dr. Arjen Jansen from TU Delft University, ICOMIA’s Technical Manager Patrick Hemp, Olivier Racoupeau of Berret Racoupeau Yacht Design, Centrostiledesign’s Davide Cipriani and Yachting World Editor, Elaine Bunting.
