New October Course Dates for Luxury Hospitality Training Academy
An experience on board a superyacht is only as good as the crew that lead it, and no-one knows that better than Luxury Hospitality (LH) the leading experts in 7-star interior and hospitality training for superyacht crew and staff working in elite domestic estates, boutique hotels and resorts.
Formerly known as IYS BV, LH was rebranded in 2016 by Managing Director Peter Vogel, who draws on more than 25 years’ experience to both train and inspire luxury hospitality professionals all over the world.
Highly renowned in the industry thanks to his commitment to the professional development of interior crew, Peter works alongside his Operations Manager Erik Smit who has run some of the world’s most prestigious Michelin-starred restaurants. Together with a team of industry specialists, they are a dream team driving up industry standards of service and hospitality.
Based on the belief that crew who know what they are doing and feel confident in their roles can focus more fully on the guest experience, the LH Academy runs twice yearly training programmes in March and October at Chateau Marquette, its training facility just north of Amsterdam.
The unique LH 360 approach is based on three pillars: Insight & Awareness, Training & Development and Professional Coaching & Mentoring, designed to motivate crew and encourage team bonding that leads to pitch-perfect team performance.
Luxury Hospitality Service Specialist
Held between 14-18th October 2019, the five-day Luxury Hospitality Service Specialist training course is designed to engage the service mind-set to help increase confidence, finesse and expertise in different service style techniques, with modules including ‘Role of the Hospitality Specialist’, ‘Service Organization’, ‘Wine & Champagne Service Techniques’, ‘Menu & Food Knowledge’ and more.
Specialising in the technical service skills underpinning the essence of hospitality, participants also have the opportunity to experience being a guest – an exercise that helps students get to the heart of how their guests are really feeling.
The course covers all aspects deemed essential for successful crew, including meeting food suppliers, learning about carving and filleting, table preparation, wine service and cigars and a visit to a Michelin restaurant.
Luxury Hospitality Self-Managing Leadership
The second available course is the five-day LH Self-Managing Leadership training which also takes place between 14-18th October 2019 and provides key information for senior crew who operate at middle-management level in professional yachting.
Participants will be taught team building and communication techniques, administration, information and financial management tools, leadership development and in-depth event and destination management, with strong emphasis on human resource skill development, recruiting, performance management, mentoring and coaching.
There will also be a hands-on event production project, where crew will be teamed up and tasked to design their very own event to teach a more systematic approach to event production and management.
Both training courses will be held at Chateau Marquette just north of Amsterdam and cost €575 per person per day (a total of €2,875) including course materials, tours, internationally-recognized certificates, coffee, tea, lunch, drinks and snacks. Accommodation, breakfast and dinner is available at Hotel Marquette at a special preferred rate.
For those planning ahead, the courses will return in 2020 between 16-20th March and 12th-16th October.
