Significant Growth for Oculus Technologies
Oculus Technologies, the Dutch company behind superyacht infotainment solutions YachtEye™, Odyss and ORBIIX, has made several new key appointments significantly growing and strengthening their company.
The expansion to the team across management, sales, product development and service forms part of the company’s continuing development which has seen a sharp rise in their sales over the last 12 months.
The additions to the team will not only support existing and future projects but also play a strategic role in the preparations ahead of an upgraded, updated and new YachtEye™ which will be launched later this year. In addition, they form part of the expansion in to new market areas such as the cruise line industry with the launch of their new product VXcruise, a modified version of Oculus Technologies’ biggest and best selling
infotainment solution YachtEye™ for the cruise market.
Appointed as Commercial Manager, Cruise Line Sector, Tako Werts’s key responsibility involves researching and establishing new market opportunities for the company’s latest infotainment solution, VXcruise. Tako joins the company having pursued an extensive international sales and marketing career for a number of technical and lifestyle products across a variety of markets. He is experienced in developing product sales
and commercial opportunities across multiple markets and countries.
Further strengthening sales on the superyacht side, Nigel Sherlock joins the team as a sales agent for Oculus Technologies. Responsibilities include monitoring the market, generating commercial interest and unfolding business development opportunities. Nigel is well known throughout the industry following successful senior positions with industry leading system integrators in both the UK and The Netherlands.
Both Tako and Nigel will be working alongside one of the company’s co-founders Stefan van Cleef and in time, will be taking on more of Stefan’s commercial responsibilities to enable Stefan to further concentrate on the Company’s development, growth and product range.
Reflecting the company’s continued investment in product development, a further two new appointments have been made. German born Andreas Knoblauch takes on the role of Developer & Service Engineer supporting the team across product development, testing and service with his experience in all aspects of product development, both front and back end. The final appointment strengthens the development aspect further with Tom Hooijenga joining the team as a Developer. Fresh on the career path and combining work with study, the ambitious and talented youngest member of the team will be focused on the front end development of new products.
