V360 Marine to Host Immersive VR Event in Monaco
CEO and Commercial Director at V360 Marine, Sam Slater, has confirmed that after the success of the company's virtual reality showcase at Club de Mar in Palma de Mallorca in January, they will be hosting a second yachting industry event in Monaco on Thursday 15th February 2018.
The debut event in Palma de Mallorca showcased the features and functionality of immersive technologies in marine and yachting projects, with an exclusive demo tour on board 37m superyacht Tilac.
The Monaco event will display their latest projects for superyacht brokerage, charter, new-build and re-fit with live demonstrations of their technology as well as the V360 Marine team of experts on hand to answer any questions.
Sam commented, "The event in Palma de Mallorca was incredible, everything we could have hoped for and absolute proof the industry is ready for this technology. The obvious next step was Monaco, the glitz and glamour but also the heartbeat of the yachting industry. VR is on course to change the yachting world. That's the reality.
"Our clients desire the best therefore our aim is to connect clients to life onboard, using intelligent technology to save you time and money from the build stage through to crew training, operational management, brokerage and charter bookings."
The technology on display in Monaco will be two main applications of the tool V360 Marine have developed. One is the full VR version with the headset and hand controllers, specifically aimed at shipyards with build and re-fit applications where design concepts need to be experienced before they start work. Fully immersive and real time changes can be carried out. Future development means it will be a complete 'digital twin' of a yacht, where all the technical information is embedded (electrical distribution systems, sanitary systems etc), so operations and maintenance are optimised.
The other is a web-based application where they have developed a multi-access platform using the yacht model so any number of 'players' can be in the same environment at any one time, from anywhere in the world. This is aimed at brokers and charterers where guided tours and simple design changes can be made together on a photo-real 'digital twin' of the yacht.
