West Nautical Expands European Sales Team

West Nautical is delighted to be adding two very experienced members to its European sales team, with Claire Sinclair and Pierre Badin joining the company on June 1.

Claire, a British national who is predominantly based in Palma, has dedicated many years of her professional career to the yachting industry, most recently as a charter broker and beforehand as superyacht senior crew, joins West Nautical as a client manager, focusing her efforts mainly on retail yacht charters. She has a particular passion for sailing yachts, participating in numerous regattas, and adding some excellent sailing experience to the company.

Having travelled globally both on yachts and on land, she now shares that knowledge and enthusiasm to offer the very best bespoke client care. Her combined years as a charter broker and crew member along with her previous background as a leisure and hospitality director means she understands how to deliver a unique and individual charter experience to all her clients.

Joining the Antibes office as sales manager, Pierre was born and raised in Cannes from a family of boatmen and fishermen.

After a degree in hotel management and a few years working in the top palaces of the French Riviera, Pierre went to London in his mid-twenties to perfect his English. He left the British capital three years later for the Caribbean sunshine and for a complete change of life, coming back to his love of the sea as he became a water sports and diving instructor.

Through his 12 years spent in the Caribbean, Pierre created and successfully managed several companies operating sailing charters, sea excursions, private concierge services and yacht support agencies between the islands of St Martin and Grenada.

Returning to Cannes in 2011 with his British partner and three year old daughter, he first created and supervised a yacht support and supplies agency as a department of a yacht brokerage firm and after three years Pierre was in charge of the full management of the entire fleet at Gaspard Yachts, as well as assisting the CEO in completing all main sales for the company.

For the past six years, Pierre combined yacht management and yacht sales where his drive and dedication have brought him a successful career with an extended knowledge and understanding of all yachting aspects and clients’ needs”.

On the addition of two new team members, Managing Director Geoff Moore said: “We are delighted to be able to attract Claire and Pierre to the company during the current market downturn due to COVID-19.

“West Nautical is a company founded on strong management services and have been financially stable throughout the present uncertainty and have not furloughed any of our employees. We have actively been seeking to bring in experienced additions to our team, of which Pierre and Claire certainly are.

Complementing our existing staff, Claire has a very successful track record in delivering successful charter holidays to her clients, and Pierre has an excellent reputation in the sales sector, both representing the buyer and the seller. We couldn’t be happier to have them and look forward to a successful season ahead.”
