Incidence Sails at Cannes Yachting Festival
This year, the sail maker, Incidence, will participate more strongly than ever in the Cannes Yachting Festival, thanks to significant developments in design and production.
Over the last three years, Incidence has invested in technical and human resources to produce and develop its own membranes, extending their expertise in custom-design. They have now mastered the production technique and continue to make regular improvements, both with the D4 and DFi®.
Incidence is also the only French manufacturer to produce and manage the entire sail production process, from design to finish, where everything is made and tested internally. The leading French sail maker is a trusted partner of superyacht owners and captains and appreciated by sailors worldwide.
Yannick Richomme, Development Manager for the Incidence Group says, "The superyacht market has been a priority for sailmakers for several years, and will be for years to come. We have built a team of complementary skills: at the design level, with new recruits in Incidence Technologies, at the commercial level, and also with a wide geographical presence through the development of service points around the world - the West Indies, the Mediterranean, Oceania... "
Having acquired, managed and developed the D4 production tools, Incidence can fully control the quality of their membranes and also customize according to the needs of each individual yacht.
New software, Sail Pack, developed by BSG Development and K-Epsilon, has also been acquired to improve the distribution of fibres in the membranes. Each sail is customised and tested to the highest levels of performance and longevity in collaboration with naval architects and designers.
Testimonies:
Thomas Gailly, Commercial Director of semi-customs for CNB Yacht Builders talks about their relaionship with Incidence Sails:
"The link between them started some time ago, with various one-off projects, such as Hamilton (CNB 117) or Grand Bleu Vintage (CNB 95) which were fitted with Incidence sails, resulting in the owners’ total satisfaction. So, of course, when we launched our semi-custom range with the 60 Bordeaux (2008) and the CNB 76 (2013), we followed up on this longstanding relationship and subsequently sealed a true partnership.
Customers interested in CNB, wherever they are from, and whatever their sailing experience, have very high standards. The construction of a yacht involves many different suppliers; we need to maintain the expected level of quality and to select exceptional technical partners. And that means at all levels: quality of communication between our design offices, equipment reliability, delivery reliability, flexibility, after-sales customer service, innovation. Incidence meets all of these criteria, and they have proven themselves over the years. In addition, they have levels of quality and service that are highly valuable, in our customers’ opinion"
Commenting on the recent CNB 76 equipped with DFi® sails, Thomas Gailly says, "It is a welcome innovation, because our customers are looking for the best compromise between performance, durability and aesthetics. Now, we have the opportunity to offer them DFi® at a reasonable price and, more importantly, to feel that we are meeting our commitment to always offering the best equipment on the market. The first CNB 76 fitted with these sails is # 11, which we were able to admire at the NBC Rendez-vous, held in Corsica in mid-June, with around twenty yachts."
The Incidence Team will be at the Cannes Yachting Festival from 6th to 11th September.
