Les Voiles d'Antibes - Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge 2017

Les Voiles d'Antibes is the first major European event of the classic sailing season and for years it has marked the opening of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge in the Mediterranean.

The Med circuit kicks off in Port Vauban in Antibes (May 31st - June 4th) followed by Argentario Sailing Week in Port Santo Stefano, Tuscany (June 15th - 18th), Vele d'Epoca di Imperia in Italy (dates tbc), winding up with the Régates Royales in the Port of Cannes (September 26th - 30th).

The esults of each leg count towards the overall award of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge Trophy.

Competiting yachts are categorized as Classic Yachts launched before December 1975, Vintage Yachts launched before December 1949 and Spirit of Tradition Yachts launched after 1970, with classic lines built with more modern materials and techniques.

The five day regatta takes place across 23 km of coastline between the bays of Antibes and Juan-les-Pins, giving fans and spectators the chance to pay hommage to such legends as Ikra, Sovereign, Thendara, Lelantina, Outlaw, Adria, Cambria and Tuiga, coming from as far afield as Ajaccio, Spain, England, Holland, Italy and Antigua. 

Les Voiles d'Antibes is also famous for being one of the friendliest events on the circuit. As well as spectacular racing action, back in port there are numerous nautical exhibits. animations along a theme of Sea and Environment, and packed-out concerts with live music every night.

Open daily from 9am to 10pm, Les Voiles d'Antibes is free and open to the general public, providing a great meeting place for sailors and enthusiasts to share in the spirit of the event.
