Marine Equipment Trade Show - METS 2016

The METSTRADE Show which runs from 15-17 November in the RAI Amsterdam convention centre, is the world’s leading platform for professionals in the leisure marine equipment industry. Also the world’s largest marine equipment exhibition, the event is organised by RAI Amsterdam in association with ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations), with significant expansion and a new layout for this year. 

Expansion and new layout 

METSTRADE has a new layout this year, including the addition of a new hall, increasing floor space by over 3000 square metres, to accomodate the growth in both exhibitors and delegates. A record number of almost 22,000 visitors attended the event last year, with almost 1400 exhibiting companies. Successful features such as the SuperYacht Pavilion and Marina & Yard Pavilion be expanded and extra facilities will be available for networking. 

The decision to expand the capacity of METSTRADE 2016 has aeady been justfied as the original floor space has already been booked, with sales on course for the additional hall. This impressive growth is across all areas of the show, with a significant increase in the average stand size, proof that the marine industry is firmly back in business.

SuperYacht Pavilion expands to two halls

Due to the ongoing expansion of the SuperYacht Pavilion (SYP), it will now take over the entire area of Halls 10 and 11.

Exceptional Marina hub

The Marina & Yard Pavilion (MYP) has also enjoyed significant growth over recent years and at METSTRADE 2016 it will move to Hall 5 in the RAI’s new Amtrium building to be next to the ICOMIA World Marinas Conference (IWMC) which runs from 17 - 19 November. 

New location for Innovation LAB and DAME presentation

The Construction Material Pavilion (CMP), will stay in the Elicium building, giving proximity to the Material Experience, an exhibition by the global network Materia. Meanwhile, the successful Innovation LAB will move to Hall 6 where it will form a central innovation hub alongside presentations of the winning and nominated products of the prestigious DAME Design Award.

The famous Sushi Bar

The VIP lounge will move to the Europe Foyer in order to optimise space and service, while the popular Sushi Bar moves to Hall 7. Last but not least, the Organisers Office will also be expanded to provide exhibitors and visitors with the excellent service for which RAI Amsterdam is renowned.

A summary of the changes

• Hall 4 and 5 merge to form Hall 5

• Amtrium lobby becomes Hall 4

• Hall 9 becomes Hall 11

• Hall 11 becomes Hall 12

• Expansion of the SuperYacht pavilion to take full hall 10 & 11 (former hall 9)

• DAME presentation and Innovation LAB centralised in Hall 6 hub

• Marina & Yard Pavilion from Europe Foyer to Hall 5

• VIP lounge moves to Europe Foyer
