Miami International Boat Show 2014
The five day event - which starts on February 13th - is an opportunity to step aboard the latest powerboats, sail boats and luxury yachts as well as preview engines, electronics and the most state of the art marine gear.
For the adventurous, there’s a chance to try out new experiences including a baptism scuba dive in a heated pool at the Dive and Travel Harbor while keen fishermen will love the Big Game Sport Fishing Expo, which offers up to the minute advice as well as the chance to check out boats, fishing gear, seminars and clinics.
Eager yachties can enrol in one hour or three hour on-the-water workshops at Sea Isle Marina which will take your skills up a notch whether you are an absolute beginner or a seasoned skipper. The hands-on courses - taught by professional instructors who are USCG licensed captains - provide an ideal jumping off point for learning everything you need to know about getting started in boating.
At the other end of the spectrum, the Miami Boat Show offers one hour and three hour powerboating workshops for the petrol heads amongst us, with free admission for the day to those signing up online for a three hour powerboat course.
The atmosphere promises to be fun-filled, with free sailboat rides along the bay, live music and celebrity appearances from National Geographic’s Shark Men Chris Fischer and Brett McBride amongst others. With more than 100,000 enthusiasts attending from all over the world, the Miami International Boat Show is the largest show in the boating calendar and definitely not to be missed.
