How can leisure boats be disposed of sustainably at the end of their useful lives?

Although the problem has been familiar for some time, it still has not been satisfactorily solved.

But there are examples and debates on the European level pointing the way forward. An overview of current strategies and trends in this area is offered by the 2nd International Conference of boot Düsseldorf, starting at 11 am on Wednesday, 22 January 2014 at the Congress Center Düsseldorf, CCD East, Room M. Experts offer insight at different aspects Under the title “Disposal and recycling of recreational craft in Europe: status quo, prospects and opportunities”, international experts will be reporting on the overall theme of boat disposal.

Conference attendees will learn how the problem is being tackled in France, for example, where a voluntary programme has been in place for several years now.

Waste recycling methods will also be on the agenda as well as the economic potential of boat recycling. Can it develop into a profitable line of business?

Along with speakers from the European boat industry, experts from other sectors involved in recycling and the composites value chain will be stating their positions.

Attendance free, registration required

The conference is targeted at managers and experts from the boat industry and at trade visitors to boot Düsseldorf who are interested in their industry’s topics of the future and wish to share in important trends. The association European Boating Industry based in Brussels is responsible for coordinating the content.

Conference attendance is free, but registration is required. The conference languages are English and German with simultaneous interpreting.

Make the most of your time at the Dusseldorf Boat Show taking place 18-26 January 2014

You are invited to a joint seminar for members of Superyacht UK and its German counterpart Deutsche Yachten.  The seminar will take place during Boot Dusseldorf, Monday 20th January, between 4.6pm.
