The Balearic Yacht Show is Now Live!

From today until the 20th of November, the Balearic Yacht Show will launch with over 40 talks and conferences on the nautical industry and over 80 virtual stands.

The first virtual boat show in the Balearic Islands will bring together thousands of professionals from the industry in one virtual meeting organised by the Chamber of Commerce of Mallorca and the Balearic Marine Cluster.

One of the strong points of this online fair is the complete schedule of talks and conferences lined up to target various professionals and enthusiasts from the industry. More than 40 conferences with renowned local and international speakers will explore upcoming and topical subjects related to the destination, current situation worldwide and some of the challenges this industry faces. 

All those registered for the Balearic Yacht Show can now reserve their place for as many of the conferences as they wish to attend. From live webinars, networking events or debates where professionals and yachting enthusiasts will share their knowledge and experience of the marine sector.

The Balearics, the perfect destination for yachting enthusiasts

One of the main objectives of the Balearic Yacht Show is to promote the Balearic Islands internationally, not only as a tourist destination, but also a sailing destination.

To show that Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera are the ideal place to work and live, Yachting International Radio will present a talk ‘Working & Living in the Balearic Islands’ at 14:00 CET on 18th November. With a mixture of marine enthusiasts sharing their story including captain and crew, attendees can hear their experience on the islands as well as the advantages and full potential the Balearic Islands can offer to sailing professionals.

A hub for yacht refit in the heart of the Med

The Balearics have always been a reference point in the world's sailing sector and are at the forefront of innovation, quality and destination. The Balearic Islands and its capital, Palma de Mallorca, remain leaders in the sector, concentrating a wide range of professional refit companies in a privileged location: the heart of the Mediterranean.  

International media partners of BYS, Superyacht Times will be hosting a session alongside some top speakers from local refit companies; Why refit in the Balearics (Local & International experts. Don’t miss this live round table discussion on November 19th at 09:45am CET.

Environmental challenges in the Balearic Islands

One of the great challenges which has become increasingly prominent in the marine sector in recent years is the generation of waste and how to avoid it. Also, how to take care of the natural fauna and flora which surrounds the Balearics and makes it such a unique destination. Many associations and companies in the industry are carrying out activities to help the sector become as environmentally friendly as possible.

On Friday 20th November at 16:00 CET, Superyacht Group are hosting a conference on ‘How to become the Cleanest, Greenest Superyacht hub in Europe. In this talk they will suggest an action plan and strategy to make the Balearic Islands more environmentally friendly not only nationally but also in Europe.

Sustainability and green sailing are some of the most widely used terms in the marine industry today. Many companies are now choosing to design and manufacture sustainable boats, such as solar or electric. Another of the points is to reduce the pollution produced by boats, making them more environmentally friendly.
