Judges Convene to Determine World Superyacht Awards
Last week, in the historic city of Trieste, the judges of the World Superyacht Awards 2015 met to decide the winners of the industry's most coveted prizes - the iconic Neptune awards.
The Judges’ Meeting is the culmination of a year-long judging process. Over the past twelve months, an independent jury comprised of 18 yacht owners and two industry professionals have travelled the globe to make personal visits to the finalist yachts in competition.
In addition to these visits, the judges each receive a hefty dossier containing over 400 pages of detailed information: photographs; statements from owners; designers and builders; as well as specifications and drawings of the finalists.
During the Judges’ Meeting, hosted at the Trieste Chamber of Commerce, the Chairman presented the finalists in each category and encouraged round-table discussion and deliberation amongst the panel.
Not only is the judging process a time-consuming and detailed procedure, but one that is carried out with extreme diligence by a knowledgeable and experienced jury to ensure a fair result. Following such a thorough process, there is no question that the 2015 winners can be extremely proud of their Neptunes, which have become synonymous with excellence in superyacht build and design.
