Fabien Cousteau Webinar - 28 January 2016
ISS, Fabien Cousteau and Oceanco - the sponsor of the ISS Fabien Cousteau Blue Award - are over the moon to announce the first-ever Fabien Cousteau Webinar.
During the Webinar, Fabien will discuss Mission 31 and the Fabien Cousteau Ocean Learning Center, his non-profit organization. For now, we asked him to give us a feel for his ocean passions in advance of January 28th:
At the crossroads of our future and the health of our water planet is the need for better understanding of the human-ocean connection. In 2014, an epic endeavour called Mission 31, shed light on the importance and need for this knowledge. We must make better and immediate decisions based on this understanding in order to change the course we’ve set for our children.
The topics are sometimes difficult to grasp due to the disconnect many people have with what is happening below the surface of the sea. It is therefore of paramount importance for a renowned aquanaut to impart stories of adventures to people the world over. Armed with that knowledge, decision makers can make much more beneficial choices on every level.
"People protect what they love, they love what they understand, they understand what they are taught."
J.Y. Cousteau
More details on signing up for the Webinar and question-asking will be made available early in the new year.
