Successful First Edition for Marina High Tech 2018
The inaugural edition of Marina High Tech took place from 24 -25 May 2018 in Marina Baie des Anges in the south of France, two full days of exhibitions and seminars showcasing innovation and sustainable development across the nautical sector.
In line with the theme of MHT18, exhibitors included marine products and services designed to reduce the impact of nautical activities on the marine environment.
A total of 42 exhibitors came from France, Switzerland, Romania and the United States to engage with professionals and boating enthusiasts keen to discover the latest innovations on the marine market. A total of a thousand people attended the Show, including boating professionals, marina managers and yacht captains and crew.
The Show also recognized the best innovations among 24 entrants for the MHT18 Award:
First prize was awarded to Aqua-Module for its connected and autonomous buoys made from recycled materials, receiving a prize of 2,500 Euros from the Municipality of Villeneuve-Loubet.
Second prize was awarded to SeaZen for its fully autonomous solar boat which crossed from Beaulieu-sur-Mer to Villeneuve-Loubet in just three hours, with over 90% of its battery capacity remaining.
Third prize was awarded to the French association, La Mer et Vous, for its underwater city built with artificial reefs.
The Jury Prize was awarded to Next Technologies for their Inflated Wing Sails, an inflatable boat wing inspired by the latest generation of paragliders, and the Organizing Team recognized CBR for their rotating support structure which facilitates access to the hull of boat for maintenance and repair.
Officials from the town of Villeneuve Loubet, who offered their full support in delivering MHT, were delighted with the success of this first edition and confirm their ongoing support of nautical innovations that favour the marine environment.
